If you've been following me on Twitter closely, I did tweet bout' Hello Kitty Cake Pops and shared a Youtube tutorial on how to make them. Well, I haven't tried making the Cake Pops myself yet, but I'll definitely be cause' I will have time to be baking this September (until I've found a job).

I found out bout' Hello Kitty Cake Pops by accident actually, because I was looking for inspirations/ideas for my birthday cake. I have in mind, Hello Kitty Rainbow Fondant Cake from http://shibertys.blogspot.com. Anyway, I will share the recipe in this post, credits to: www.bakerella.com

Hello Kitty Cake Pops Recipe

Here's a list of ingredients you will need:

Cake (Any kind will do)

Cake Frosting
White Candy Melts or White Chocolate
Jumbo Heart Sprinkles
Mini Red M&Ms
Edible Pens or Black Food Coloring
Lollipop Sticks
Styrofoam Block
Toothpicks

Basically, if you do know the basics of making a Cake Pop, everything else will be smooth sailing (except that you'll have to decorate it to make it look like Hello Kitty)

1. Crumble the cake in a large bowl.

2. Mix thoroughly with ¾ can of frosting. Mix together.

Styrofoam Board is important, otherwise you'll get flat kitty heads and it'll all turn out ugly.

3. Shape the Hello Kitty heads into a semi-flat oval shape. Insert tip of lollipop stick into some of the melted candy and insert into the bottom of the Hello Kitty head.

4. Take two white chocolate chips and dip the bottoms in the melted candy and then place/glue them on the top of Hello Kitty head.

5. Stand them up in a styrofoam block to dry. When the ears are firmly attached to the head, dip the entire Hello Kitty head in a bowl of the white melted candy. Make sure the bowl is deep enough so you can get it in one dunk. Then remove and gently tap off any extra coating. This will help smooth it out, too.

6. When the Hello Kitty heads are dry, apply the hearts and m&ms to make a bow and the yellow rainbow chips to make a nose. You can use a toothpick and a little bit of the melted candy to act as the glue.
Then, draw the eyes and whiskers on using an black edible ink pen

And you're done.
